In a recent security scare, ten railway detonators were found on the tracks in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, prompting an immediate investigation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The detonators, described as “harmless” by railway authorities, exploded as a special Army train was passing through the area on September 18, 2024. Although the detonators created a loud noise, no damage or injuries were reported. The train was halted briefly for inspection before continuing its journey.

The incident led to the detention of a railway employee, Shabeer, who has been taken into custody for questioning regarding his involvement in stealing and placing the detonators on the tracks. Officials are investigating whether this was an isolated act or part of a larger conspiracy. The authorities have registered a case against Shabeer under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, and further inquiries are ongoing to determine the motive behind the act.
