The 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investment Summit, which could not be held in 2021 due to the pandemic, will now be held between 10-12 January 2022. Preparations for the summit have begun in right earnest. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held discussions with industrialists in Delhi on 25 November on capital investment. An MoU was signed between Industry Secretary Rajiv Gupta and industrialists in the presence of the Chief Minister in Gandhinagar from 11.30 am today. Today, in just 14 minutes, MoUs worth Rs 14,000 crore were signed, in which 28,500 people were assured of employment.

Five MoUs were signed with only one company, Aarti Industries. The Chief Minister’s speech lasted for four minutes and the entire programme was completed in just 18 minutes. A total of 38,000 MoUs have been signed in the last two Mondays, showing the government’s readiness to provide employment to over 65,000 people.

Maruti Suzuki India’s MD Kinchi Ayukawa also briefed the Chief Minister about the Center of Excellence in Gandhinagar and the current Rs 16,000 crore investment by Maruti in the state. The Chief Minister assured him of full cooperation of the state government. He also requested that their projects be useful for local employment. The Chief Minister also invited Maruti Suzuki India’s MD Kinchi Ayukawa to visit the Statue of Unity. In a meeting with Vineet Mittal, Chairman, Avada Energy Pvt. Ltd., he was keen to include Gujarat in his next five-year investment plan of Rs 20,000 crore in the unconventional energy sector.

In a meeting between Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and JCB CEO Deepak Shetty in Delhi, Shetty unveiled plans to start a plant at Halol in Gujarat with an investment of Rs 650 crore, which would provide employment to 1,100 people by next April 2022. The Chief Minister also invited him to attend the upcoming Vibrant Summit. Urban Company CEO Abhiraj Singh Bhale said that Urban Company is the largest on-the-service platform in Asia. His company provides services in 50 cities of the country and in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot and Gandhinagar of Gujarat.

He told Bhupendra Patel that in a meeting with the Chief Minister, the managers of Ayo Hotels and Homes in Delhi were involved with 750 hotels in Gujarat and provided direct as well as indirect employment to 7,500 people.
