Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has partnered with Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), Ludhiana, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing skills and technological knowledge for PSPCL employees. The collaboration was facilitated under the guidance of Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, aligning with initiatives led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The MoU, valid for the next three years, focuses on joint training programs, research collaborations, and industry-specific insights. GNDEC will deliver programs on advanced topics such as Smart Grids, Material Selection, Failure Analysis, Data Analytics, and Power Distribution Systems, providing PSPCL employees with exposure to emerging technologies. PSPCL will, in turn, support GNDEC with data and real-world use cases, allowing students to tackle industry-relevant challenges.
Both institutions will facilitate regular faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and co-host workshops, seminars, and certification programs. They will also share library and e-journal resources to support research efforts. The training programs will be scheduled in line with mutually agreed Terms of Reference, without any immediate financial commitment from GNDEC, which will focus on the academic and research components outlined in the MoU.
Present at the MoU signing were PSPCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Er. Baldev Singh Sran, Director/Human Resources Er. Ravinder Singh Saini, and GNDEC Principal Dr. Sehijpal Singh.
Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO expressed optimism that this partnership will improve PSPCL’s professionalism and operational efficiency, benefiting both PSPCL and the state of
Punjab.
