Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscored the substantial measures taken to promote educational equity in the state, emphasizing its crucial role in mitigating social disparities on Friday. Responding to Dr. Akash Agrawal’s inquiry during the Question Hour in the UP Vidhan Parishad, the Chief Minister noted the concerted efforts made over the past seven years to enhance the education system in Uttar Pradesh.

“Under Operation Kayakalp, endeavors have been initiated to enhance the infrastructure of 1,32,000 schools in the Basic Education Council. Over 40 lakh new students have enrolled in government schools in the state,” stated Yogi Adityanath.

He further expounded, saying, “All students are provided with bags, books, shoes, socks, and sweaters. Additionally, there is a push to implement the NCERT syllabus gradually in the UP Board. With the Basic Education Council offering the same curriculum, there is no longer a need to send our children to private schools.”

Moreover, he highlighted the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan,’ conducted in April and July. The notable increase of 40 lakh children in the schools of the Basic Education Department of the state indicates that the government’s efforts are yielding positive results, and the objectives of the Right to Education (RTE) are being realized.

Addressing another query, the Chief Minister affirmed that the government disburses Rs. 1200 to the bank account of each student’s guardian for the procurement of bags, books, shoes, socks, and sweaters.
