Actor Taapsee Pannu, who is preparing for the release of her new film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, discussed the challenges of revitalising her character Rani to keep it engaging for the audience. Her portrayal of Rani in Haseen Dillruba was noted for its striking and captivating quality. As she returns to the role in the sequel, Taapsee revealed that this installment will be even more intense and darker.

While speaking to the media, she said, “The most difficult aspect was to fulfill the expectations of the audience. Apart from that, performance-wise, it was not that challenging, as after doing the first part, I knew what the audience liked about the character and what not. So, this time I got a chance for the correction. I approached Part Two (‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’) with more confidence than I did with Part One (Haseen Dillruba). I hope the audience feels the same way. This time the character is darker, and edgier and the stakes are high.”

Vikrant Massey, who portrayed Rishu in Haseen Dillruba, discussed returning to his role and shared what viewers can anticipate from his character in the sequel. “The audience can expect me to handle, ek haath hai mera,” he laughed and added, “I won’t open up much about my character as I want the audience to experience it. But as Taapsee said it is more edgier, crazy, darker, and entertaining.”

Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill also have significant roles in the film. When asked about his decision to take on the project, Sunny responded humorously, “Rani ka aashiq banne ko mil raha tha”, adding, “You just watch the film and you will know why I did it.” He continued, “I never imagined and thought about such a character.”

The film’s stars—Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Shergill—visited the Capital for the movie screening. They shared their experiences of being in Delhi, reminiscing about their time shopping and savouring local cuisine. Taapsee mentioned shopping in “GK M Block,” while Jimmy Shergill fondly remembered indulging in Delhi’s street food, “I love to have chole bhature,” he said. The atmosphere in the theatre was thrilling as everyone enjoyed taking selfies with the stars and watching the movie.

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is the sequel to Haseen Dillruba, which debuted on Netflix in July 2021 and received positive feedback from viewers. The original film featured Vikrant Massey, Taapsee Pannu, and Harshvardhan Rane in leading roles. The sequel, starring Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey, is scheduled for release on Netflix on August 9.
