In Punjab, the case of slain singer Sidhu Moosewala again caught attention as one of the accused in Moosewala murder, escaped from the police custody in Mansa district on Sunday. An accused and close aide of Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Deepak Tinu, reportedly escaped from the custody of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) unit of the Mansa Police.
Tinu managed to ditch Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) officials when he was being brought from Kapurthala Jail to Mansa on remand in a private vehicle Saturday night, they said. “Tinu was being brought to Mansa’s CIA staff office from Kapurthala Jail when he escaped from custody. The accused had to be probed in connection with the Moosewala murder case,” Mansa police said.
The Punjab Police had brought him on transit remand from the Tihar jail in New Delhi on July 4 in the Moosewala murder case. Deepak had to be questioned in the killing. As per reports, Deepak Tinu and Lawrence Bishnoi had a conference call on 27 May and on 29 May Moosewala murdered.
So far, over 30 accused have been identified, key links drawn and twenty-four arrests have been made till now.
As per the sources, after the multiple failed attempts of Mani Rayya and Mandeep Singh aka Toofan for killing Moosewala, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang planned a more elaborated route to murder him. They assembled two more modules, of six-shooters, and equipped them with sophisticated weapons, including AK-47 and grenades.
Earlier, in September, the police had even revealed that one of the accused had carried out a recce in Mumbai to target actor Salman Khan.
Slain singer Sidhu Moosewala’s mother Charan Kaur made serious allegations on Punjab Government. She said that Punjab Government and Punjab Police are hard in gloves with the gangsters. Charan Kaur alleged that Lawrence Bishnoi was wearing brand new shirt and there was a Tilak on his forehead. She stated further that how come an accused could be escaped from CIA staff.
