On Thursday, opposition MPs, who had been suspended from the Rajya Sabha for interrupting the proceedings, continued to protest near the Gandhi statue inside the parliament and refused to be apologetic.

TMC MP Mausam Noor said, “There is no question of apologising. We wanted to have discussions on the price rise in Parliament, but we were suspended. Our 50-hour-long protest will continue outside. “

She was responding to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi’s earlier statement that the MPs’ suspension could be lifted if they apologized.

Joshi tweeted, “We are always ready for a positive discussion in the parliament, but the Congress party keeps disturbing the house. We are even ready to call back the suspended members, but the opposition should ensure that they do not disturb the house again.”

Shanta Chetri, a member of Parliament associated with TMC, also put forward her opinion and said, “We are not going to apologise as we haven’t done anything wrong. We’ve raised the issues of common people. The country is suffering from price rises and raising the issue is not wrong.”
