Chairing a preparation meeting with various departments, ADC Tidke stated that the day serves as a reminder of our significant responsibility towards the world’s largest democracy by pledging to exercise our franchise. He emphasized the Election Commission of India’s focus on maximizing voter participation in the festival of democracy, ensuring the program conveys this message to voters. In addition to the main function, symbolic events at the school/college and booth levels will mark National Voters’ Day.

ADC Viraj S. Tidke announced the commencement of an awareness tractor and motorbike rally from the District Administrative Complex, Mohali, to Amity University via Airport Road on the morning of January 25. The state-level function is scheduled from 10 am to 12:00 noon, with the rally flagged off at 9:00 am.

To involve students in this significant democratic event, poster-making, slogan writing, and declamation contests will be conducted in schools/colleges before January 25. Winners will be honored at the main function. Furthermore, the best performers in the electoral registration process (Special Summary Revision -2024) will receive recognition from the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab during the event.

ADC Tidke urged Government Colleges in Mohali and Derabassi, CGC Landran, and Giverny Polytechnic Khooni Majra (Kharar) to participate in the program with students, providing them valuable information on the day.

The meeting was attended by officers including SP (Traffic and Industrial Security) Harinder Singh Mann, Tehsildar Jaswinder Singh Kharar, District Social Security Officer Ravinder Singh Rahi, District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh, District Language Officer Dr. Davinder Singh Boha, District Education Officer Dr. Ginni Duggal, Deputy District Education Officer Angrej Singh, Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar, and District Sveep Nodal Officer Prof. Gurbaksh Singh Antal.
