Mohali police arrested bank manager Gaurav Sharma on charges of defrauding crores of rupees in Axis Bank. Gaurav Sharma, the accused, and the branch manager at Bansepur, residing in village Bhoa, Tehsil, and District Pathankot, was apprehended at Hall 302, 3rd Floor, Tower Primrose-A, Ambika Florence Park, New Chandigarh. The police secured the bank manager’s remand for further investigation into the fraud case involving crores of rupees, presenting him before the court.
Gaurav Sharma, the primary accused who had been evading arrest in the Mullanpur Garibdas police station case, was taken into custody. The case involved the fraudulent opening of accounts by various customers in the Bossepur branch. Sharma allegedly absconded after transferring and withdrawing crores of rupees from accounts of acquaintances and relatives without their consent.
The police, through technical investigation and human intelligence, successfully arrested Gaurav Sharma near the Nepal border.
