Mahindra Reveals BE 6, XEV 9e Prices; EV Sales Forecast at 1 Lakh by FY27

Mahindra has revealed prices for the BE 6 and XEV 9e, with deliveries starting in mid-March. Nuvama predicts 96,000 EV sales by FY27. Mahindra's new EV facility in Pune aims to enhance production and market growth.

Mahindra Reveals BE 6, XEV 9e Prices; EV Sales Forecast at 1 Lakh by FY27

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced prices for all nine variants of the BE 6 and XEV 9e models. While bookings for both models will begin on February 14, 2025, deliveries of both models will start in mid-March with all the variants arriving by August 2025.

The company had already revealed the price range for the two cars, where the BE 6 will be between Rs. 18.9 lakh and Rs. 26.9 lakh and the XEV 9e will range from Rs. 21.9 lakh to Rs. 30.9 lakh. The BE 6 has five variants, the base variant ‘Pack 1’ is priced at Rs. 18.9 lakh, which is going to be the last in August 2025, and the top of the line ‘Pack Three’ has a 79 kWh battery and has a claimed range of 656 km.

The XEV 9e has four variants and starts at Rs. 21.9 lakh. The most expensive variant, which is available first, will be priced at Rs. 30.5 lakh and will feature a 79 kWh battery with best-in-class power of 210 kW. It will also come with L2+ ADAS with five radars and one vision camera. The ‘Pack Three Select’ variant will come out to the market for Rs. 27.9 lakh. The other variants to follow in July and August will be Pack Two and Pack One.

Mahindra has also elaborated on the features offered by its variants. ‘Pack One Above’ in BE 6, meanwhile, boasts of a fixed glass infinity roof, auto defogger, and dual zone automatic temperature control. Pack Two is accompanied by features such as adaptive cruise control and L2 ADAS with one radar.

Recently, Mahindra opened its latest flagship EV Manufacturing & Battery Assembly Facility in Chakan, Pune. The new plant will be assembling electric SUVs. Mahindra has kept aside Rs. 4,500 crore for developing powertrain development, new models, and manufacturing capacity building in its overall investment cycle of Rs. 16,000 crore allocated for FY22–FY27.

Brokerage firm Nuvama said the company can build 90,000 EVs. Sales, which will contribute 8 per cent of total volumes, would reach 48,000 units in FY26. Sales, according to him, would shoot up to 96,000 units by FY27 and this will contribute to 15 percent of the overall volumes.

UBS estimates the market size of BE 6 at around 44,000 vehicles per month with nearly half priced at Rs. 22 lakh, giving it a competitive edge. On the other hand, the market size of XEV 9e is approximately 42,000 vehicles per month, with 45% of sales exceeding Rs. 30 lakh.
