Mizoram Chief Minister, Pu Lalduhoma, had his inaugural meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital, marking the first encounter since Lalduhoma assumed office on December 8. Lalduhoma, a leader of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), secured a historic victory in November’s elections, becoming the first non-Mizo National Front (MNF) or Congress leader to hold the Chief Minister’s position in Mizoram.

In the meeting with Prime Minister Modi, discussions covered various aspects of Mizoram’s development and collaboration with the central government. The Prime Minister’s Office shared the event on social media, stating, “Chief Minister of Mizoram, Shri Pu Lalduhoma, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Earlier, Lalduhoma engaged with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday. The leaders explored avenues for closer collaboration between the Mizoram government and the Ministry of External Affairs. Jaishankar expressed his pleasure at meeting Lalduhoma, highlighting their shared initiation into government service and training.

Mizoram’s Chief Minister is keen on fostering a collaborative approach to address the state’s developmental challenges. This meeting signifies the beginning of a dialogue between the Mizoram government and the central leadership, reflecting a commitment to inclusive governance and shared progress.
