In Usmanpur locality of Mirzapur, two individuals lost their lives and one is critically injured after being struck by a speeding truck near a railway gate on Thursday morning, according to police reports.
The victims, identified as Lal Bahadur Verma (56) and Sukalu Yadav (70), were returning home in Usmanpur when the accident occurred. Both Verma and Yadav succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while Lallan Verma (55) remains in critical condition and has been admitted to the local community health center.
Chunar circle officer Ashok Kumar Singh provided details on the incident, stating that Lallan Verma has been referred to the BHU Trauma Centre in Varanasi for further medical treatment after initial care.
The bodies of Lal Bahadur Verma and Sukalu Yadav have been sent for post-mortem examination, while authorities are actively searching for the truck driver involved in the accident.This is a developing story.
