“In the whole world, minorities are safer and being looked after well in India only,” affirmed Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiran Rijiju, during his visit to Kargil on Sunday. Speaking to media persons, Rijiju emphasized India’s commitment to the safety and well-being of minorities, highlighting it as a global example.

During his visit to oversee Muharram arrangements in Kargil and engage with local educational and cultural institutions such as Isalmia School and the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Rijiju praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for minority welfare.

Rijiju described these initiatives as unprecedented in scale and impact. He urged the public to dismiss politically motivated negative narratives that seek to undermine India’s achievements in safeguarding minority rights.

Addressing local concerns, Rijiju reiterated the central government’s commitment to modernizing educational institutions in Kargil and preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage. “We are dedicated to upgrading educational facilities in Kargil to elevate standards and promote cultural awareness,” he affirmed.Responding to queries about Ladakh’s seasonal connectivity challenges, Rijiju expressed optimism about ongoing infrastructure projects, including tunnel constructions aimed at improving accessibility and fostering development in the region. Highlighting the central government’s commitment to improving living standards in Ladakh, Rijiju emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s pledge to accelerate development efforts in the region.

“As Prime Minister Modi embarks on his third term, our focus remains on ensuring comprehensive growth and prosperity for all, including the people of Ladakh,” he concluded.
