Rajasthan BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena, aged 72, announced his resignation from the state cabinet and all his positions at a public prayer gathering in Jaipur.

He had previously stated that he would resign if the BJP lost any of the seven seats in eastern Rajasthan assigned to him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, before the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha election were announced.

Following through on his promise, Kirodi Lal Meena, a BJP leader has resigned from the Rajasthan Cabinet. His aide confirmed that Meena submitted his resignation to the chief minister ten days ago.

In the recent Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan, the BJP won 14 out of 25 seats, while the Congress showed improvement by securing eight seats, including Dausa. Three seats were won by other parties.

Meena was responsible for several departments, including public charge resolution, disaster management, relief and civil defense, as well as agricultural and horticultural affairs.
