Gala to Support Legal Fund for Jan. 6 Defendants
On September 5, Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, will host a high-profile awards gala aimed at supporting individuals charged in connection with the January 6 Capitol attack. The event, known as The J6 Awards Gala, will benefit the Stand in the Gap Foundation, a non-profit organization providing financial aid to those facing legal challenges from the riot.
Fundraising Goals and Ticket Prices
The gala, with tickets priced at $1,500 for general admission and up to $30,000 for VIP tables, aims to raise funds to cover legal expenses for those involved in the Capitol breach. The Stand in the Gap Foundation seeks to alleviate the financial burdens for individuals, including prominent figures from the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers militias, who were charged with conspiring to use violence and disrupt the peaceful transfer of power following Trump’s 2020 election loss.
Notable Attendees and Possible Speakers
Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s former attorney, and Vivek Ramaswamy, a former GOP presidential candidate who endorsed Trump, are confirmed attendees. Ex-Trump advisor Peter Navarro is also on the guest list. Although Trump is listed as an invited speaker, Senator Lindsey Graham declined to confirm his attendance. Sources close to Trump indicate he may not attend, despite earlier indications of support for the legal fund.
Trump’s Expected Absence and Legal Proceedings
While Trump had previously shown support for the Jan. 6 defendants, contributing to their legal fund, his campaign has confirmed that he will not attend the gala. On the same date, Judge Tanya Chutkan is anticipated to address the next steps in the legal case involving Trump, who has limited immunity from legal actions following a Supreme Court ruling in July.

The gala will also recognize the J6 Prison Choir, awarding plaques to members for their contribution to the song “Justice For All.”
