At least 29 people lost their lives in a devastating bus accident in Pakistan, with only one survivor. The bus, carrying 30 passengers, was en route from Haveli Kahuta to Rawalpindi when it plunged into a ditch near the Pana Bridge. The incident occurred in the mountainous region of Kahuta tehsil in Rawalpindi.
The cause of the accident remains unknown. Kahuta’s Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Zaka informed Geo News that police and rescue teams were on-site, working to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage. Some of the victims have been identified, and their remains are being transported to the district headquarters hospital.
Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life, extending his condolences to the families of the deceased. He emphasized the importance of expediting relief efforts. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also conveyed her sympathies to the victims’ families during this difficult time.
