‘So Scared’: Woman’s Last Selfie And Messages Before Tragic Brazil Plane Crash- Watch Here

The tragic plane crash in Brazil, which claimed the lives of all 62 passengers onboard, a series of poignant final messages from one of the victims has emerged. The crash occurred on August 9 when a Voepass aircraft, en route from Cascavel to Sao Paulo, lost communication with air traffic control and plummeted into a wooded area near Vinhedo.

The ill-fated flight took off from Cascavel Regional Airport at 11:56 AM and was headed for Guarulhos International Airport. Despite initial calm, the plane reportedly lost contact with air traffic controllers around 1:20 PM. Footage that later surfaced on social media captured the plane descending into trees before a large plume of black smoke marked the crash site.

Among the victims was 23-year-old Rosana Santos Xavier from Franco da Rocha, Greater Sao Paulo. A primary provider for her family, Rosana was traveling for work. Her mother, Rosemeire Xavier, shared with TV Globo that Rosana typically worked from home but had to make bi-monthly trips to Toledo for meetings.

Just before the crash, Rosana sent a series of distressing messages to her family. At 11:47 AM, she texted in the family group chat, “Man, two hours of flight. We’re going to arrive in the rain. I am so scared of this flight. I swear, the plane is old.” Moments later, she added, “There is a broken seat. I swear. Chaos.” Along with these messages, she sent a selfie to her mother, showing visible signs of anxiety.

Rosemeire described her frantic reaction upon learning of the crash, recounting, “I was in despair. I started running around the house screaming.”

On August 10, Brazilian authorities completed the recovery of the bodies. A total of 62 victims, 34 men and 28 women, were identified and transported to a Sao Paulo morgue for identification and delivery to their families. Investigators are now examining the aircraft’s black boxes to uncover the cause of the crash.

Voepass, the airline involved, has yet to confirm the details surrounding the accident. The company issued a statement saying, “There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board. The Company is providing support via telephone at 0800 9419712, available 24 hours a day, providing information to all its passengers, family members, and employees.”

As the investigation continues, the heart-wrenching final messages from Rosana highlight the profound personal loss and the urgent need for answers in this devastating tragedy.
