The Kamala Harris campaign team ridiculed the technical mishaps that plagued the Donald Trump-Elon Musk interview on X (formerly Twitter). The highly anticipated discussion between the former President and Tesla CEO began about forty minutes late, causing many social media users to miss the live conversation. Elon Musk, the owner of X, attributed the delay to a “massive DDOS [distributed denial of services] attack,” though the specifics remain unclear.

The technical difficulties echoed the issues faced by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis during his Republican presidential campaign launch on X in May 2023. At that time, DeSantis’s attempt to announce his candidacy was marred by similar server problems, prompting Trump to mockingly label it a “DISASTER.”

In a twist, the Harris campaign team, which recently joined Trump’s Truth Social network, reshared Trump’s scathing comment from 2023. The Harris team’s move drew amusement from X users, who commented, “When the troller gets trolled,” and praised the campaign team’s strategy with comments like, “Her social media team deserve an Olympic gold.”

Trump, who had avoided X since Musk reinstated his account in November 2022, made his first post on the platform in a long time. The post featured 2024 campaign ads and promoted his interview with Musk, marking his return to X after being banned following the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack.
