Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu successfully underwent prostate removal surgery on Sunday and is in stable condition, according to the treating hospital. The procedure occurred while Israel is still engaged in conflict with Hamas in Gaza, over a year after the October 7 attack.
Netanyahu’s office had previously revealed that he was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection due to benign prostate enlargement. The Hadassah Medical Centre confirmed that Netanyahu has regained consciousness, is in good health, and has been transferred to the recovery unit, where he will be monitored in the coming days.
This surgery follows other health procedures, including a hernia surgery in March and a pacemaker implantation in July of the previous year.
