Abu Dhabi Rings in 2025 with Record-Breaking Fireworks and Drone Show | WATCH

Spectacularly, New Year’s Eve was welcomed to Abu Dhabi through an amazing 50-minute fireworks display at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba. The incredible spectacle stunned spectators and earned Abu Dhabi six new Guinness World Records, cementing the emirate as the best in the world for hosting celebrations.

For comparison, a 6,000-drone show filled the skies and lit up this night for more than 20 minutes, while intricate aerial designs captivated every viewer. Then, the culmination of the grand finale was celebrated with fireworks in every hour between 6 pm, creating eagerness until finally, the spectacular midnight record event.

Iconic venues in Abu Dhabi embraced the celebrations with Yas Island and Corniche stunning pyrotechnics for all to enjoy. Fireworks at Yas Island took place at 9 and midnight for all to enjoy Yas Bay Waterfront, Yas Marina, and Yas Beach. On the Abu Dhabi side, displays on Corniche Beach, Lulu Island, and the MOTN Festival were at their vibrant best.

Social media was abuzz with videos of the vibrancy and visual splendor of the event. The efforts put in by Sheikh Zayed Festival reflected the commitment of Abu Dhabi to go beyond its previous record. In 2023, the festival created three Guinness World Records for a 40-minute fireworks display, and last year, it created the world’s largest aerial logo using over 5,000 drones.

Beyond the capital, celebrations spread to other areas like Madinat Zayed Public Park, Ghayathi, Al Mughira Beach, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, and the Liwa Festival, all of which had their own spectacular fireworks.

The Sheikh Zayed Festival is an event beginning from November 1, 2024. It will be filled with laser shows, concerts, and other cultural performances that are family-friendly. The festival will go until February 28, 2025, so it is already time to celebrate the Emirati culture and heritage.
