At least 14 people, including 10 pedestrians and two police officers, were injured in a combined car ramming and stabbing attack at the Pardes Hanna-Karkur intersection in Israel on Thursday. The attacker was shot dead by Israeli police.
Attack Details
The incident occurred at Highway 65 near the intersection at 4:18 PM (local time), according to Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom (MDA). Witnesses reported that a vehicle plowed into pedestrians before the assailant exited and began stabbing people with a screwdriver. The attacker then crashed into a police vehicle.
Casualties and Medical Response
The Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera treated 14 victims:
- One person in critical condition (a 17-year-old woman)
- Two in serious condition
- Three in moderate condition
Two Israeli police officers were also injured in the attack at the Kakur intersection.
Terrorist Identified and Neutralized
Initially, police identified the suspect as a 24-year-old Israeli Arab from Ma’ale Iron with no prior criminal record. However, authorities later confirmed that the assailant was a 50-year-old Palestinian “illegal resident” from the northern West Bank.
A police spokesperson stated, “The terrorist ran over several people at a bus station, then proceeded to stab others with a screwdriver and crashed into a police vehicle.”
The Israeli police shot and killed the assailant at the scene.

MDA paramedic Avi Cohen described the chaotic scene, stating that emergency responders arrived to find a large commotion and multiple victims requiring urgent medical attention.
