Air India, Air India Express, and Vistara are making special in-flight announcements to honor the late Ratan Tata, the Tata Group patriarch, who passed away recently. Other airlines, such as IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air, have also paid tribute to the visionary leader. The Tata Group is currently consolidating its airline operations, with Vistara set to merge into Air India next month.

On Thursday, officials confirmed that the three Tata-owned airlines would be commemorating Ratan Tata during their flights throughout the day. Tata, who was 86 and also held the title of Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus, passed away on Wednesday night at a Mumbai hospital.
This announcement coincides with the group’s ongoing efforts to unify its airline businesses. The integration of Air India Express and AIX Connect was completed on October 1, while Vistara’s merger with Air India is scheduled for November 12.
Vistara is a collaborative venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines.
Air India’s CEO and MD, Campbell Wilson, expressed gratitude to employees, saying, “Air Indians especially acknowledge and are grateful for Tata’s immense contribution to Indian aviation and to the Tata airlines.”
