The much-anticipated thriller film ‘Merry Christmas,’ featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, has rescheduled its release date. The makers, sharing a fresh poster on Instagram, declared that the film is now set to hit the theatres on January 12, 2024, instead of the initially planned date of December 8, 2023.
In a joint statement, the makers expressed their profound affection for the project and a dedicated commitment to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. They conveyed, “We have made this film with a lot of love and passion as every filmmaker does; however, with the back-to-back movie releases and a packed last two months of 2023, we have taken the decision to extend the season of joy and bring our film to the theatres on January 12, 2024.”
Helmed by Sriram Raghavan, known for his directorial excellence in films like ‘Johnny Gaddaar,’ ‘Badlapur,’ and ‘Andhadhun,’ ‘Merry Christmas’ promises to be a genre-defying tale. The movie is shot in two languages, featuring distinct supporting actors in each version. The Hindi cast includes Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version stars Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in corresponding roles, adding an extra layer of anticipation for fans worldwide. The film also introduces Pari, a child actor, and features exciting cameos by Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte.
