Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday skipped her appearance at the Enforcement Directorate(ED) in Delhi, giving reasons that she was having some political engagements in Srinagar.
According to the news agencies, quoting the spokesman of PDP Mehbooba Mufti was ready to cooperate with ED for all the questioning provided she is either questioned through video conferencing or is questioned in the ED office of Srinagar.
“She has nothing to hide and is ready to cooperate if the ED has to ask her anything regarding the case. We would love to serve them a cup of tea if they come to Srinagar for any kind of investigation or do it through video conferencing,” PDP spokesman said.
Earlier Delhi High Court refused to give any relief to Mehbooba Mufti for not appearing before the ED even as her lawyer cited many reasons for her non appearance.
It is in place to mention that ED on 15 March had summoned Mehbooba Mufti for questioning in a ‘money laundering case’, though it was not clear in the summons whether she is an accused or a witness to the case.
Meanwhile NIA has filed a supplementary charge sheet against her close aide and PDP youth leader Waheed Parra on Monday, accusing him of being in conspiracy with Hizb to destabilize the nation.
NIA in the charge sheet has said that Waheed was the main source of keeping alive politico-militant nexus in Jammu and Kashmir and was funding Hizb for the politics of his party.
