Megastar Chiranjeevi on Sunday released a video statement in support of the NDA alliance, comprising the Jana Sena party, the TDP, and the BJP, for the upcoming General Elections 2024. The JanaSena party was founded and is led by Chiranjeevi’s younger brother, Pawan Kalyan.
In the video posted on social media, Chiranjeevi appeals to the people of the Anakapalle Lok Sabha constituency and urged them to vote for the BJP candidate CM Ramesh and the JanaSena party candidate from the Pendurthi Assembly seat, Panchakarla Babu, in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections 2024.He encouraged voters to support the NDA alliance and spoke about his younger brother and JanaSena president Pawan Kalyan, and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Chiranjeevi has kept himself away from active politics since the 2014 UPA defeat but now has joined the political fray by lending his support to the NDA. His public endorsement of NDA alliance candidates CM Ramesh and P Ramesh Babu could create a significant shift in the political dynamics of Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the alliance between Pawan Kalyan, Chandrababu Naidu, and the central government under Prime Minister Modi would give a new and promising path for the future of Andhra Pradesh.
With Chiranjeevi’s support, the NDA’s position has become stronger, state political analysts. But how much it sways the electoral results remains to be seen. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP, Chandra Babu Naidu’s TDP, Pawan Kalyan’s JanaSena, along with national players like BJP and Congress, are fighting it out this time around in Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan is confident that the NDA will come to power in Andhra Pradesh. At a recent public rally, he stated, “You (the people) will realise the difference between us and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), which ruined the State and thrived on deception and dramas like the latest incident of ‘stone pelting’ at its president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s actions amounted to killing democracy itself, which makes it imperative that he should be dislodged from power in right earnest.”
He also added that the five-year YSRCP rule was marked by broken promises and atrocities and attacks on whoever spoke against the CM and his government and this must be punished.
