A Christmas treat took an unexpected turn for a customer who ordered food online from the iconic South Bombay restaurant, Leopold Cafe. The festive season turned into a shock when the chicken meal, meant to be a Christmas gift, revealed an unwelcome surprise. Ujwal Puri, the unfortunate recipient, shared visuals of his disturbing food order, exposing an unexpected and potentially harmful ingredient – a medicine strip.
Ordered through Swiggy, Puri raised concerns about the quality of food from the renowned eatery located in Colaba, Mumbai. He took to social media, sharing a video of the meal with a tablet strip placed inside the bowl alongside the order of Chicken in Oyster Sauce. One of the two tablets was already consumed, raising serious health and safety concerns.

Swiggy responded promptly, expressing disappointment in the incident and promising to investigate the matter. In a tweet, they stated, “We expect better from our restaurant partners, Ujwal. Do allow us a moment while we look into this.”
Puri posted images of the meal, highlighting the presence of an Ibuprofen Paracetamol Tablet in his food container. Captioning the post, he expressed his shock, saying, “My Mumbai Christmas Surprise ordered food from Swiggy from Leopold Colaba got this half-cooked medicine in my food.” The incident serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of food safety and quality control in the restaurant industry.
