New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has told the Madras High Court that additional seats cannot be created for students from government schools as it requires the sanction of the Supreme Court.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) said this to the Madras High Court regarding the issue of creating additional seats for 24 government medical colleges in Tamil Nadu to accommodate candidates under the 7.5 percent reservation.
The issue has been raised after pleas moved by candidates who got allocated to self-financing medical colleges under the 7.5 percent quota but were asked to wait as they were not able to afford the fees.
