BJ Government Medical College and Johns Hopkins University are jointly conducting a study, named ‘One to Three,’ to evaluate the efficacy of ultra-short TB preventive therapy in people with HIV in Pune. The study will compare a daily dose of Rifapentine and Isoniazid for a month (1HP) to a weekly dose for three months (3HP). The goal is to assess whether 1HP is superior in terms of treatment completion and adherence.
The study will enroll 250 HIV-positive individuals, providing insights for potential revisions in India’s TB prevention guidelines.
