Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal of the Municipal Corporation Panchkula led various inaugural events on Thursday, marking significant advancements in the city’s infrastructure.
Among the inaugurated projects was the recarpeting of roads in Sector 26, Panchkula, amounting to Rs 3 crore 77 lakh in expenditure. Ward Councilor Sandeep Sohi expressed appreciation towards Mayor Goyal for addressing this long-pending issue, highlighting the relief it would bring to residents.

Additionally, Mayor Goyal inaugurated rainwater drainage works near Vaikunth Dham in Sector 20, Panchkula, with an allocated budget of Rs 105 lakh. Councilor Sushil Garg and Commissioner Sachin Gupta accompanied him during this event.

Mayor Goyal shared that since assuming office, the Municipal Corporation has undertaken development projects totaling Rs 300 crore, garnering positive feedback from the community. He emphasized that development efforts were equitable across wards represented by councilors from various political affiliations.

Mayor Goyal elaborated on the establishment of community centers in every village within the Municipal Corporation’s jurisdiction, with ongoing construction in progress. Notably, these centers are dedicated to martyrs, with their biographies displayed to instill patriotism among youth.

He underscored the importance of basic amenities such as electricity, water, roads, security, health, and education for all citizens. Acknowledging the state government’s commitment, he praised the provision of essential facilities to residents on a priority basis.

The Mayor highlighted the establishment of PM Shree Schools in Sector 15 and Barwala, directly funded by the Central Government, benefiting girls in the region. Mayor Goyal proudly declared the transformation of once-neglected Panchkula into a developed hub, attributing success to collaborative efforts and the spirit of inclusive development.

Panchkula has emerged as an educational hub under BJP rule, with institutions like NIFT Sector-23 and the Polytechnic Multi-Skill Center in Sector-26 providing substantial benefits to students.

The completion of AYUSH AIIMS in the Mata Mansa Devi temple complex and the ongoing construction of a Medical College in Sector-32 further underscore the city’s progress in healthcare infrastructure.
