In a shocking revelation, a scam amounting to approximately Rs 50 crore has been uncovered in a private bank located in the village of Bansepur, Mohali. The alleged mastermind behind the fraud is identified as Gaurav Kumar, the bank manager who reportedly withdrew money from customers’ accounts.

The incident has triggered panic among the villagers as news of the scam spread rapidly, prompting concerned individuals to rush to the bank for inquiries. Upon learning of the situation, local authorities, including the police, swiftly intervened to investigate the matter.
It is reported that Gaurav Kumar, who held the position of bank manager for several years, took advantage of the trust placed in him by the villagers. Customers, having faith in the manager, deposited money without obtaining deposit slips. The fraudulent activities involved manipulating the mobile account link in fixed deposit accounts, preventing customers from receiving withdrawal notifications.

As the gravity of the situation unfolded, it was discovered that the bank manager had ceased attending the bank. The scam came to light when a vigilant customer, suspecting irregularities, requested an entry in his passbook. Many customers had refrained from making entries in their passbooks, as the manager often cited machine malfunctions as an excuse.

Gaurav Kumar, who resided in a society flat in Chandigarh, has been missing for several days, and his flat is reported to be locked. The police are actively investigating the case to apprehend the accused and determine the extent of the financial loss incurred by the bank and its customers. The community is advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
