Maoists in Chhattisgarh assassinated a youth on suspicion of him being a police informer in Bijapur district.

The dead body of the youth was thrown into the village, and reports also claimed that a similar incident occurred a year ago when the Maoists kidnapped a youth who managed to escape.

The youth resided in the Madvi Somadu Galgam neighbourhood, according to the source. He was continuously sought after by the Maoists. They then learned the teenager was at his brother-in-law’s residence in Galgam when he was captured by the Maoists, who took him to the forest to slit his throat on the pretext of him being an informer for the police.

Upon discovering the dead body, the villagers informed the police. The case is being probed.

Reportedly, the youth was  confined by the Maoists a year ago for several days. He was released thereafter and flee from the village for months. He was back in town few weeks ago consequently leading to his assassination by the Maoists.
