Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio address, extended his best wishes to Indian athletes participating in the upcoming Paris Olympics and encouraged citizens to support them using the hashtag ‘Cheer4Bharat’. Marking the first episode after a hiatus during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi thanked the public for their participation in the democratic process and their steadfast trust in the Constitution. The 111th episode coincided with his assumption of office for a third term, adhering to guidelines set by the Election Commission’s Model Code of Conduct.

Discussing environmental initiatives, PM Modi mentioned the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign launched on World Environment Day, urging people to plant trees in honor of their mothers. He applauded Kerala’s Karthumbi umbrellas, made by tribal women in Attapadi, as an exemplary case of ‘Vocal for Local’ and women empowerment.
Highlighting Indian products gaining global recognition, PM Modi praised Araku coffee from Andhra Pradesh and snow peas from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. He commended the efforts behind their success, including the Girijan cooperative’s role in promoting Araku coffee globally and the initiative of Abdul Rashid Mir in exporting snow peas to London.
PM Modi also recognized the milestone of All India Radio’s Sanskrit Bulletin completing 50 years of broadcast, underscoring its role in preserving and promoting the Sanskrit language. He lauded initiatives like the Sanskrit weekend sessions in Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park, aimed at fostering dialogue and debate in Sanskrit among people of all ages.
