Authorities have announced a $60,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The 50-year-old executive was fatally shot in broad daylight outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel on December 4, 2024, in what police believe was a targeted attack.

Initially, the NYPD offered $10,000 for tips, and the FBI later added $50,000, underscoring the urgency of the case. In a statement, the FBI confirmed its collaboration with the NYPD, noting, “The FBI is assisting the New York City Police Department in the shooting death of a 50-year-old male victim on the morning of December 4, 2024, at approximately 6:40 am outside of 1335 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan.”

Photos of the suspect, who fled the scene on an electric bike into Central Park, have been released, with law enforcement urging public assistance.

Widening the Search NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated the suspect is believed to have left the city, intensifying the hunt as critical hours pass. Investigators discovered a backpack in Central Park during a second search, reportedly containing potential evidence.

According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, surveillance footage shows the suspect entering a taxi bound for the Port Authority bus terminal near the George Washington Bridge. Efforts to track him have expanded beyond New York City, as police and federal agents pool resources to solve the case.
