A drug peddler has been arrested by Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell and seized contraband drugs worth Rs 53 lakhs. The accused has been sent to judicial custody for five days.
Under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act, the Anti-Narcotics Cell has registered a case.
Meanwhile, the accused was arrested on Friday in Worli and later was produced before the court, where he was sent to judicial custody for five days.
Earlier, the Bandra Unit of the Mumbai Anti Narcotics Cell arrested two drug peddlers this month.
Moreover, from the Jogeshwari area, drug peddlers were arrested, and also recovered 1 kilogram of Charas from the accused.
According to the officials in the international market, the seized materials were around Rs 30 lakh.
“Bandra unit of Mumbai Anti Narcotics Cell arrested 2 drug suppliers from Jogeshwari area and seized over 1 kg of Charas, valued at over Rs 30 Lakhs in the international market, from their possession,” the statement reads.
However, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act, the case was registered by Anti-Narcotics Cell.
