President of Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House on Tuesday. President Solih is on his four-day visit to India.

President Solih accompanied by high-level officials and a business delegation arrived in India at the invitation of PM Modi.

“A warm to a close friend and maritime neighbor! President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of Maldives arrives in New Delhi for an official visit. An opportunity to nurture the unwavering friendship between our two countries and lend further momentum to the multifaceted partnership,” MEA tweeted.

Meanwhile, President Solih will meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the visit, President Solih will be discussing with an Indian business delegation in Delhi. Solih will also visit Mumbai, and Maharashtra, and participate in business events.

The Maldives is India’s key neighbor in the India Ocean Region which has always been a close and important maritime neighbor.

However, India’s “Neighborhood First” policy and Maldive’s “India First” policy work in tandem to advance mutual interests and tackle concerns.
