Malaika Arora shared a statement on behalf of her family following the death of her father, Anil Mehta, Wednesday morning. She said in a statement, “We are deeply pained to inform that our beloved father Anil Mehta passed away. Gentle soul, doting grandfather, loving husband and our best friend, we will miss him dearly. Our family is in shock by this loss and we request privacy from the media and well wishers at this difficult time. We thank you for your understanding, support and respect. With Gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, Axl, Duffy and Buddy.

The police immediately confirmed that Anil Mehta died by suicide. As per the reports, he jumped from his apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai around 9 am on Wednesday.
Malaika Arora is a former model and VJ who has been judging different dance-based reality shows, such as India’s Best Dancer, Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and Zara Nachke Dikha. She has also judged other shows like India’s Got Talent and Supermodel Of The Year. Other than her stints on TV shows, Malaika owns a yoga studio, an apparel brand, and a food delivery platform.
She is especially known for her item numbers like Chaiya Chaiya, Munni Badnaam Hui, Anarkali Disco Chali, and Hello Hello. Recently, she was seen in the reality TV show Moving In With Malaika.
