On Thursday, a day after the passing of Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Mehta, the reality TV star and former VJ was seen outside her Mumbai residence as she and her family prepared for his last rites. Malaika, dressed in a white suit and black sunglasses, was accompanied by her mother Joyce Polycarp and son Arhaan Khan. Celebrities, including Arjun Kapoor, also attended to pay their respects to Anil Mehta.
Arhaan was seen comforting his grandmother Joyce, who was visibly emotional, as the family made their way to the waiting car. Malaika assisted her mother, helping her into the vehicle while other family members and friends followed behind. Arjun Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, his wife Sshura Khan, and several others were also present for the final rites on Thursday.

Many celebrities had already visited Malaika’s parents’ home on Wednesday to offer their condolences. Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Arjun Kapoor were spotted among the visitors. Arbaaz’s family, along with celebrities like Ananya Panday and Kim Sharma, also came to support the grieving family.

Malaika took to Instagram on Wednesday night to announce her father’s passing. Anil Mehta, 62, reportedly died by suicide, according to the Mumbai Police.
In her statement, Malaika expressed, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect…”
Regarding the incident, DCP Crime Branch Raj Tilak Roshan addressed the media outside Malaika’s parents’ Bandra residence on Wednesday. He shared, “Body of one Anil Mehta (62) was found. He resided on the 6th floor. We are carrying out further investigation and our team is here. We are investigating all angles in detail. Our teams are here, forensic teams are here as well. Body is being taken for postmortem. We are investigating everything in detail. Prima facie, it seems to be suicide, we are conducting further investigation.”
