In a major crackdown aimed at dismantling terror financing networks in Jammu and Kashmir, six government employees, including four policemen, have been dismissed from service under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India. This decisive action follows an extensive investigation that uncovered their involvement in a sophisticated narco-terror network operated by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and other terror outfits across the border.

A senior government official disclosed that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the dismissal of these employees after a thorough probe established their roles in financing terrorism through the illegal sale of narcotics. The investigation revealed that the network was deeply entrenched, with these officials exploiting their positions to facilitate and sustain the illicit trade, thereby channeling funds to terrorist organizations.

The dismissed officials have been identified as Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, Head Constable; Khalid Hussain Shah, Constable; Rahmat Shah, Constable; Irshad Ahmad Chalkoo, Constable; Nazam Din, Teacher; and Saif Din, Constable. Their removal is seen as a crucial step in the government’s ongoing efforts to root out elements within its ranks that support terrorism.

Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its sympathizers, the official stated that stringent measures will be taken against anyone found to be involved in such activities. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the critical importance of eradicating corruption and terror links within the government to safeguard the well-being and security of citizens. He highlighted that this bold action is part of broader efforts to dismantle terror networks and sever their financial lifelines, which are essential to crippling their operations.

Authorities have assured that the investigation is far from over and will continue to uncover any additional links and collaborators within this extensive network. The government has also called on the public to increase vigilance and cooperate with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities. This collaboration is deemed vital to enhancing the effectiveness of security measures and ensuring a secure environment for all residents.

The dismissal of these six employees sends a strong message that the government is resolute in its commitment to combating terrorism and will not hesitate to take tough actions against those who jeopardize national security. This move is expected to strengthen the integrity of government institutions and restore public confidence in the administration’s ability to handle internal threats posed by terror financing networks.
