In the religious town of Diggipuri in the Malpura region of Tonk district, a gruesome murder occurred last night. Unknown individuals brutally murdered Mahant Siyaram Das Baba, who had been living in the Bhooria Mahadev ashram for the past 45 years. The saint, originally from Patonda village in the Mahavir Ji Tehsil of Karauli district, was attacked with a stick and fatally injured. When villagers arrived at the temple in the morning for worship, they were shocked to find the saint’s lifeless body and immediately informed others.
Upon receiving the news, Ayyub Khan, the Diggi police station in charge, rushed to the scene and informed higher authorities. Given the seriousness of the matter, Rajrishi Raj Varma, the Superintendent of Police, along with Additional Superintendent of Police Pushpendra Singh and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushil Maan, also arrived at the scene and conducted an extensive inspection.
A mobile investigation team, an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team, and a dog squad thoroughly examined the crime scene. The villagers were angered by the murder of the saint, and they demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits. However, they opposed lifting the saint’s body and effectively shut down the entire Diggi market.
