Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 premiered in cinemas on April 19. Fans expected it to spring a surprise at the box office despite the low buzz because of the first part’s popularity. However, this didn’t happen. According to the film exhibitor Akshay Rathi, the film generated minimal revenue in its first week and failed to garner any attention. He added the box office performance is disappointing and “nothing to write about”

He further said the film’s lifetime collection would be between Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore.

“It’s bare minimal, the movie is virtually on all tracks gone unnoticed. The lifetime collection would be less than 3-5 crores,” he told ‘The Daily Guardian.’

The movie is a sequel to the 2010 hit ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’ that starred Rajkumar Rao, Neha Chauhan, and Nushrratt Bharuccha.

‘LSD’ was a huge success at the box office at the time of its release. However, the sequel failed to match its standards.

‘LSD 2’ is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and co-produced by Cult Movies and Balaji Telefilms. Apart from Mouni Roy, Tusshar Kapoor, Sophie Choudry, Anu Malik, the sequel features Paritosh Tiwari, Bonit Rajpurohit, and Abhinav in pivotal roles.

Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2 follows three interlinked narratives, each exploring various facets of contemporary existence, delving into themes such as identity, technology, and the essence of being human.

Dibaker Banerjee, meanwhile, also worked on ‘Tees’ which was announced as a Netflix original. Banerjee filmed the movie in 2020 and submitted it to the platform in 2022, but the streamer withdrew from it. The film follows the story of a multi-generational middle-class Muslim family and features Naseeruddin Shah, Kalki Koechlin, Huma Qureshi, Shashank Arora, and Neeraj Kabi.

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 was released in cinemas on April 19.
