Tomorrow, the 6th phase of the election will take place, but what many don’t know, is usually during the election day, banks tend to remain closed. But the question still remains- whether banks will be closed on May 25 or not and if so, in which locations.
But however, all of this information has been revealed.
Typically, banks are closed on the fourth Saturday of every month. However, May 25 falls on the fourth Saturday, which means that banks will be closed in all states.
Locations for Phase 6 of the Election:
Haryana
Uttar Pradesh
Delhi
West Bengal
Jharkhand
Bihar
Jammu & Kashmir
Odisha
However, this week, banks in some states were closed for four straight days, as the bank holiday started on Buddha Purnima, which was on Thursday.
But the RBI continues to release schedules of Bank holidays annually, taking national and state holidays, cultural or religious events, operational requirements, and government notifications into account.
So usually, this information is communicated through official channels such as RBI website or notifications issued by other banks and financial institutions.
As for the holidays, the banks will be closed this fourth Saturday on May 25. Which is followed by bank holidays on Sunday on May 26th.
