London Authorities confirm death of missing Jalandhar man

A youth from Jalandhar, missing in London, found dead. Gurshaman Singh Bhatia (23) from Model Town had been missing since December 15. His family was distraught since then. Gurshaman had gone to East London for studies. He was last seen at Canary Wharf in East London.
The absence of GS Bhatia, unaccounted for since December 15, was publicized on social media by BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, appealing for assistance from the Ministry of External Affairs. Tragically, he was discovered to have passed away due to drowning in a canal.
Rajiv Duggal, an official from Jalandhar Model Town Committee, mentioned that it was Gurshaman’s birthday on December 15. After the celebrations, all friends went to their respective homes, after which Gurshaman went missing. On Monday night, news of Gurshaman’s death surfaced. Duggal stated that Gurshaman was supposed to receive his MBA degree from the UK after around 15 days. The family had applied for an urgent visa to go abroad.
Family member Jaswinder Singh told that around 12:30 am, they were informed from the UK that Gurshaman had passed away. The family immediately left for London. They stated that Gurshaman’s body will be brought back to India for last rites.
As per information, GS Bhatia had gone to London in December last year. He had enrolled at Loughborough University in London. During this time, on Monday, they received news of Gurshaman’s demise, after which the family had departed for London.
The family in Jalandhar was concerned after Gurshaman Singh Bhatia went missing. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa posted Bhatia’s picture on social media, urging the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene. Sirsa had requested the Indian High Commission in Britain to ascertain Gurshaman Singh’s correct location and inform the family. Following this, the ministry initiated action
