Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: People Humbled PM Modi, Says Beniwal

As the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) experienced a substantial decrease in the number of seats in Rajasthan compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) President Hanuman Beniwal criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the public had “shattered” the arrogance of both Modi and his party, the BJP.

Beniwal said “The people of Rajasthan have shattered the arrogance of PM Modi and the BJP. The people have shown him the strength of farmers and the Jawans. The INDIA bloc fought unitedly and dented the BJP’s slogan of ‘ 400 paar ‘.”

He added, “The people of the state gave a clear message to the entire country that they are ready to teach a lesson to the arrogant government.”

The RLP leader asserted that the state’s farmers had cast their votes in opposition to the government’s ‘anti-farmer’ policies, while the Jawans voted against the ‘Agniveer’ scheme. He further stated, “We will focus on completing the unfinished projects, including those related to railways and roads.” Beniwal, running from the Nagaur constituency, was leading with 41,156 votes, while his opponent, BJP’s Jyoti Mirdha, was trailing at the time of this report.

The RLP and the Congress party are partners in the INDIA bloc. The BJP has experienced a significant setback in the Hindi heartland regions of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won all 25 seats in Rajasthan, but according to the latest trends from the Election Commission of India (ECI), it is now leading in only 14 seats in the state.

As per the latest data from the Election Commission, the NDA is leading on 292 seats while the INDIA bloc is ahead on 233 seats with the others leading on 17 seats.
The BJP-led NDA appears far from its target of “400 paar” with the BJP falling behind a simple majority in Lok Sabha, according to the latest trends.
