Ahead of the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed confidence in the party’s stronghold constituencies, Amethi and Raebareli. Pilot emphasized that despite the opponent, the voters in these constituencies remain pro-Congress.

Pilot remarked to PTI, “In both Amethi and Raebareli, regardless of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s choice of candidate, we anticipate significant victories.” He further asserted, “Today, we are campaigning in Raebareli, where we expect a historic mandate in favour of Rahul Gandhi. “Amethi and Raebareli” hold immense importance for the Congress party. Amethi, previously represented by Rahul Gandhi, was wrested by BJP’s Smriti Irani in the 2019 elections. In contrast, Raebareli, a traditional Congress stronghold, has seen victories by leaders like Sonia Gandhi in recent years. For the upcoming elections, Congress has fielded Rahul Gandhi from Raebareli and loyalist KL Sharma from Amethi. This strategic move sidelines Priyanka Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra from the electoral fray. Alongside contesting from Raebareli, Rahul Gandhi is also standing as a candidate from Wayanad constituency in Kerala.

The Lok Sabha elections, unfolding across seven phases, have witnessed polling in earlier phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13. The fifth phase is scheduled for May 20, with results set to be announced on June 4.

Sachin Pilot claims Raebareli and Amethi as Pro-Congress and voters won’t divert ahead in the Election 2024 ahead.
