In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs exuberantly cheered and chanted slogans celebrating their victory in the recent state assembly elections, echoing “Teesri Baar Modi Sarkar” and “Baar Baar Modi Sarkar.”

The spirited atmosphere became more intense as opposition MPs countered the slogans with their own concerns. The Lok Sabha was adjourned until 12 p.m. amid the commotion, capping off a tumultuous start to the session.

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, Prahlad Patel, who secured victory in the recently concluded Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, expressed his pride in representing the state as an MLA in Parliament.

Speaking ahead of the Winter Session’s commencement, Patel conveyed his intentions to address the Jaljeevan Mission in the Rajya Sabha, anticipating opportunities to participate in discussions in both Houses.

The Winter Session, following the recent assembly election results where the BJP clinched victories in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan and Congress seized power in Telangana, began with crucial agendas on the table.

BJP MPs Brij Lal and Neeraj Shekhar are set to present reports related to ‘The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023’, ‘The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023’, and ‘The Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023’ in the Rajya Sabha on day one of the session, following the forwarding of these reports to the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha earlier.

Additionally, the Ethics Committee’s report on the ‘cash-for-query’ allegations against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is scheduled for presentation during this session.
