The festival of lights, Diwali, is just around the corner, and the festive spirit has reached Indian Army soldiers stationed hundreds of kilometers away from home along the Line of Control (LoC). A video has emerged online showing soldiers dancing and singing to Bollywood songs in celebration of Diwali.

In another video shared by news agency ANI, the soldiers were seen lighting earthen lamps and bursting firecrackers. While they maintain a high level of vigilance to prevent any incidents along the LoC, they are also embracing the festive spirit.

“We celebrate Diwali miles away from our homes. The Army is like another big family for us. According to our tradition, we celebrate Diwali with our fellow jawans and officers,” an officer stated, as reported by PTI.

The soldiers conducted Lakshmi puja, sang the Lakshmi-Ganesh aarti, and enjoyed the festivities with firecrackers. “We are on alert round the clock along the borderline. Celebrations and duty go hand in hand. We enjoy the festivities with our men in uniform from various parts of the country,” remarked another soldier patrolling the border, as quoted by the news agency.

Additionally, to bring Diwali celebrations to people living in remote areas near the LoC, the Army observed the festival with traditional fervor and devotion at multiple locations in the Poonch and Rajouri districts. Deepavali is celebrated nationwide with great enthusiasm, marking the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana and spending 14 years in exile, according to Hindu mythology.
