The Rise of Comic Books!

Comic book fandom is exploding in India.
Over the past decade, comic events have become hugely popular, attracting tens of thousands of fans across major cities.
These comic events feature comics, graphic novels, video games, movies, television shows, toys, and collectibles from India and around the world and showcase pop – culture.

Comic Con India
One of the longest-running and largest comic cons is Comic Con India, held annually in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi.
Starting in 2011, Comic Con India events now draw over 100,000 visitors each year.
Cosplayers abound, dressed as popular characters like Deadpool, Harley Quinn, and various anime characters.
Major Indian publishers like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, Graphic India and Holy Cow Entertainment launch new titles and merchandise.
International publishers like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and Image also have a strong presence.
“The comic con culture has provided a massive boost to the Indian comics industry,” said Jatin Varma, founder of Comic Con India.

Indie Comix Fest
This one is for the comic book aficionados who are not just obsessed with Marvel, DC or Manga but appreciate the art form.
Unique creators and voices are the need of the hour in terms of the comic book scenario.
The Indie fest has seen increased footfall over the years, especially in Bangalore and Delhi which is heartwarming since localized stories are what resonate more with homegrown creators adding their rooted stories into the mix.

Infinito Comic Fest
Another interesting comic fest coming up is brewing in the land of Chattisgarh where Infinito Comics, an Indian Comic Universe of more than 2500+ characters, based in Raipur is making waves and are coming up with its first comic book fest ever! Some of their prominent characters are Razor, Hyna, Quick Ninja and many more!

The annual gathering, now in its fourth year, has grown to become one of the most popular comic-themed events in the region.
