In celebration of Talat Mahmood’s centenary, Sahar Zaman, his grandniece and a distinguished journalist, presents a remarkable gift to fans and music enthusiasts: the book ‘Talat Mahmood – The Definitive Biography’. Chronicling this iconic singer’s life in a comprehensive 480-page volume, the biography reveals exclusive insights into his life, featuring restored and colored photographs from studios and family albums, previously unknown to the public.


Unveiled at the 16th Global Film Festival in Delhi, the book garnered acclaim from various luminaries. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the host and film producer, emphasized the importance of introducing the legendary singer’s inspiring journey to the younger generation.
Sahar Zaman expresses her desire for the book to eventually inspire a biopic, encapsulating Talat Mahmood’s life in cinema, which has been deeply entwined with music.
Actor Arun Bakshi, present at the book launch, reminisces about Talat Mahmood’s generosity and empathy, recounting instances where Mahmood selflessly supported friends in need. He commends Sahar for bringing the memories of Talat sir to life through her book.
