Literary event marks unveiling of Devi Ram Jodhawat’s posthumous book cover

In a poignant gathering at the Krishnayana Gallery of Jawahar Kala Kendra, a program organized by Jeevan Sundar Sansthan saw the unveiling of the cover of the posthumously written literary work, ‘Srishti Ka Shringaar,’ authored by the late litterateur and former Indian Administrative Service officer, Devi Ram Jodhawat.
The event, graced by esteemed scholars and luminaries from the literary world, witnessed the presence of art connoisseur KC Malu, comic poet Sanjay Jhala, senior Rajasthan Administrative Service officer Pankaj Ojha, Dhod Band promoter Rahis Bharti, lyricist Banaj Kumar Banaj, and several senior litterateurs from the state.
Conducted by Abdul Latif Usta, the program, brimming with experiences, was initiated by Jodhawat’s daughter and Additional Director General of Jawahar Kala Kendra, Priyanka Jodhawat. She shed light on the essence of the event, emphasizing that unveiling the cover of a book symbolizes a commitment to oneself. Priyanka shared that, six months after her father’s demise, they plan to publish another book that encapsulates her father’s literary legacy and emotions, releasing it on his first death anniversary.
Delving into the hidden emotions within Jodhawat’s poems and exploring his work and personality, Priyanka expressed her deep connection with the literary journey of her father.
The main speaker of the program, senior litterateur Ved Vyas, lauded Devi Ram Jodhawat for never letting his conscience extinguish, even while serving in administrative roles. Ved Vyas emphasised Jodhawat’s ability to transcend time in his literature, praising him as an original writer whose poetry revealed the simplicity of his character.
Litterateur Nand Bhardwaj remarked that creators embellish the world through their literary creations, emphasising that humanity can enhance the beauty of the world through thoughtful and creative endeavours.
Renowned poet Lokesh Kumar Singh Sahil highlighted the guiding role of poetry throughout history, expressing confidence that time would unveil the beauty of Jodhawat’s creations. He emphasised that Jodhawat’s poems provided a path to a better society.
Senior litterateurs Krishna Kalpit and Manisha Kulshrestha shared their perspectives, while members of the Jodhawat family paid tribute to Devi Ram Jodhawat through heartfelt poems. The event also featured the screening of a documentary capturing the literary journey of DR Jodhawat.
The literary community gathered to honour and remember the contributions of Devi Ram Jodhawat, celebrating his enduring legacy in the realm of literature.
