Lionel Messi is all geared up to break another record. The Argentina skipper, who won the World Cup in 2022 is all set to equal a record of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 35-year-old presently stands on 699 goals in European club football.
The Ligue 1 player who plays forward can enter in the 700 club goals against Marseille on February 27. Just one more goal and he will join his rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s 700-goal club. If the professional player somehow fails to score a goal against Marseille, he will get another opportunity against Nantes on March 5, 2023, in front of his home crowd.
In last two years, Messi appeared in a total of 61 games for French club and during this time he has scored a total of 27 goals. Since the beginning of the 2023, the professional player has appeared in 8 games wherein he scored 4 goals.
Let us remind you, Messi’s contract will expire at the end of June. Though PSG still want to retain the player for another year but the player is re-thinking about his decision. Meanwhile, his fans are eagerly looking forward to celebrate new achievement of their favorite player.
